With Eagle and SCAT, there is little difference. Both have quality parts. I have heard on other forums that CAT stuff does not have as good a finish as Eagle or SCAT, although I have no direct experience. My engine was built with an Eagle rotating assembly because that is what my machine shop sold. I have also heard very good things about the quality of Compstar products. Eagle and SCAT parts are cast/forged in China and shipped to the US where they are machined and finished. CAT is also a a foreign made product (China, I think) but I don't know where they are machined and finished.Last edited by rumrumm; 10-16-2009 at 07:13 AM.

so use what you want i know what fits the best and holds up the best so far

I have used probably 25-30 of Scats kits and the same number of Eagle kits (and/or perts) and have always found the Scat machine work to be higher quality. I ran into some Eagle cranks that had as much as a .0005 taper on the rod journals. Just bad machine work, in that case polishing.
I prefer the Scat stuff for low cost and quality.
Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like
