    thanks mr Lee.....

    where abouts is it? is it what us brits call the rocker cover?

    i need to be sure..... is this where i will find head castings?


    does anyone have a picture of engine pointing out what is the valve cover..

    As you look at the engine from the front, the two covers, one on either side about 6 inches from the carburetor, are each held on with four small bolts. remove them and the head casting number will be visible.

    Be sure to use new gaskets when replacing the covers.

    hi, CHH, yes thats the engine number i had on the log book and what the seller told me it was, i had a quick glance and thought yes thats about right but when we couldnt find a matching suffix number i decieded to get the brillow pad out and sand down the last 3 digits to make sure

    sure enough it read CHH....

    so for the time the engine has been in its had the wrong engine number on the log book so now im going to have to write to dvla to get it all changed properly....

    sorry for the confusion....but thats what the logbook said it was so not having the experience with chevy and suffix number i thought it would of been right
