Let's carry that analysis to the entire old car hobby in overview. In the category of "street rod", hot rod, whatever you prefer to name "old" cars, 1948 and older is COMPLETELY dominated by popularity of Ford brand cars. For the years 1949 to 1954 it's a little muddled, with Ford products being a bit stronger, but a good case could be made that GM products were gaining strength. Then the "COSMIC MOMENT" hit.....................the introduction of the 1955 Chevrolet................immediate sea change in brand preference for both body style and engine choice (one notable exception would be '65 to '70 Mustangs). Well, at least up to the '72 model year...............after that.................who really cares?

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
