Pro and con of gear drive timing?
I have a 350 zz4 crate enginein my '33 Vicky. Since I can't leave anything alone I'm toying with the idea of installing a different cam to give it a "lumpier" idle, gain a bit on the power curve/hp and install roller rockers this coming winter. The engine does have Aluminum heads and I'll have them ported to the intake as well. I'll also add a set of exhaust dumps.
Since the engine will be out I've also thought about changing the timing chain out to gear drive. I love the sound of an engine Idling along hearing that "noisy" blower like sound.
Any pros or cons on using gear drive timing ? I'm thinking of using a Pro-Comp set--anyone have any recommendations or comments."Breathe in... Breathe out... then move on with life. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff"
".......So sanded it all down and resprayed. ......" Been there. done that on a couple of paint jobs over the years. Usually took me a couple of days to get over being mad before I started...
