yup gear drives are junk they make harmonics they add more harmonics to the engine and in turn make neat things happen grear drive can shorten the life span of the parts like valve springs .i will not build a engine with one.when i build a engine like to take out harmonics and try to contour them not add to them. so i say no not a good ideal
