Tech, your web link is always a good reference...I need to bookmark it so I can find it.

One major mistake that a builder will make is to assume "it's just as good" because they have the part already in hand OR can get it on the cheap. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Ever. Never. If the engine config in Tech's web link says "using a Crane XX cam" then a "ElCrapo YY" cam is NOT going to to the same horsepower.

It is frustrating to see people waste money when they are on a budget because they buy junk. Junk always is easier to find and probably cheaper to buy. But, especially if you are on a budget, you should be buying quality....if the el cheapo oil pump fails, you saved $30 but lost $hundreds when the engine fails.

The best engine advice I ever got was "figure out what parts you need and then shop for the best price on those parts rather than shop for price and use the cheap parts you found"
