I think you can hook up the oil pressure sensor for your oil gauge just above the oil filter. I have heard this before and I just went out and looked at the
LT1 that I will be installing in my daughters 78 elko. as far as needing the stock lt1 oil sensor, you don't and you don't need the oil sensor in the pan.
