LT1 and gauges?

I have a LT1 enging (-95) and a set of Dolphin electrical gauges.

Can i use the temp and oil pressure signal from the LT1 harness or do i have to use the senders that came with the gauges? If so, were do i put the senders? The oil pressure sender seems very big...

you have to use the sending units that came with the gauges. water sender will go into side of head and oil will go in back of intake manifold on block. These are standard places on a sbc. do you have the computer hooked up? you should have one temp sending unit on one head that goes back to the computer. and use the other head for your gauges.

Yes, the computer is fixed. I have one sender thats on the left. I just have to check the right side.
By the way, what to do with the tach? Where will i get signal for that?

you should have a tac wire comming from your computer. I will check mine and report back as to the color code on that wire.

I think i only have one place for the oil sender. What will happen if i use the sender that came with the gauges? Will the computer work anyway?

I found one place fore the temp sender. Its on the right side. The sender that came with the gauges wont fit. I guess i have to get some kind of adapter.

I tried to use the oil pressure wire and it didn't work. I think it has to do with the fact that every thing is low voltage. Use the sender with your gauges and all should be good. I deep sixed the original unit for the lt1 and put a direct pressure line in it's place. My harness was made for my 66 elky from a standard harness that excluded every thing I didn't need and had the computer programed for it.

But i think i need the original sender to. Is there another place for the gauge sender?

I think you can hook up the oil pressure sensor for your oil gauge just above the oil filter. I have heard this before and I just went out and looked at the
LT1 that I will be installing in my daughters 78 elko. as far as needing the stock lt1 oil sensor, you don't and you don't need the oil sensor in the pan.
