1 Yes you need to run stock cam so the stock computer work properly. You can advance it 4° and be safe.
2 No the stock injector will work, You may have to increase the fuel pressure.
    3. Yes you do need to reprogram the computer. I suggest get Hypertech programer.
    4. I think both 98 and 99 block are the same.

I could run the stock cam, but I want to run a more stout cam that has an band of about 600-4500rpm. let me re word the question.

    1. When getting an aftermarket cam, do I need to get one that is EFI specific?

Call CompCams Cam Help line at 800-999-0853. They have a line of cams specifically designed for EFI/TBI applications. You do not have to run a stock cam, but you are limited to how large you can go.

I came across a product that looks like it might do the trick. It is called HP tuners. It lets me do a lot of things that I see usefull. Does anyone have any input?
