Chevy SB 383 build
Hi out there. I WILL be performing a 383 build this summer and I have big plans. I know what I want to do and I have a few questions.
The build starts off with a 99' EFI vortec 350, four bolt main motor. I will buy the eagle 383 stroker kit and will bore as little as possible to clean up the cylinder walls. I want the power band to be low, somthing like 600-4500RPM. I will use stock heads and intake. I will have the heads machined to proper specs and the block will be machined. This will go into a chevy Astro(that right, I said astro) and it will be EFI still.
Here are some questions that I have.
1. Do I need to get a Cam that is specificly made for EFI?
2. Do I need to get aftermarket injectors for this set up?
3. What kind of computer mods should I do(I would like a system that I can put on my laptop and use it to tune and monitor PIDs if possible).
4. Does anyone know the differance between a 98' block and a 99' block?
Thanks for looking and any imput is appriciated. I will be doing this project this summer and I want to learn as much as possible before spending any money.
