[QUOTE=DennyW]That's fine Dave, It was a entertaining reply though.

There you go with the whining thing. You forgot didn't you ? It's supposed to be: I know he went crying to the moderator, remember ?

That's just what I mean. I'm not whining, are you ? I'm telling you like it is, straight up. So if you would be so kind as to not throw the extras in some of your replies, I would appreciate it. Just trying to get an understanding here. It's clear you don't like me, and that's ok. But you just seem to make an effort to do those things. Thanks for your understanding. And yes, this is my last reply to you, I promise.[/QUOT] Are we having a pi$$ing contest ??
Is this going to turn into the same thing as what happened with Richard??
Just remember you are both leaders on this forum and all the things you can teach the younger guy's.

Nope. I don't get run off as easy as Tech...

PS---Post counts have nothing to do with leadership, just means I've been around here awhile.....

Pat's monster motor can get that Ranchero there. But not no Found On the Road Dead motor. Dave them $1M dollar, 250 MPH rides a few days back look a lot fancier than a Ranchero. Go get 'em.

    Kitz

Well Kitz, sure do wish I had a mil to drop in it, but I don't see that happening any time real soon!!!!! Nothing is set in stone on the engine yet, but it will definitely be a Blue Oval!! The best part of the entire project is just how many different aspects of engineering it does involve!!!! When we started talking about it five years ago it didn't really seem all that involved. But the more we learn about it, the more we find out we have to learn!!!! I sure do love a challenge, though! I'm very fortunate to have some very knowledgeable people involved with me on the project.... The one thing I am definitely sure of is that this is not the kind of project you can just hurry through and hope for the best! Heck, could end up starting the whole thing over with a Torino type body style just to get some of the aero numbers to look a bit more favorable........

BTW, if you have any suggestions or insight on particular problems along your area of expertise that you feel we may encounter, your input would certainly be appreciated!!!! Oh yeah, do you know of anyone who has a wind tunnel we could borrow??????

It also has a lot of "unique" sheet metal work, 4 bar rear suspension, coilover/strut front suspension, 6 point cage, custom dash, and a whole bunch of other mods. I build cars with certain parameters in mind and performance, styling, and handling goals planned out long in advance of the build ever starting. My ultimate goal is always to have all the components compliment each other and work together to achieve the goals I established in the planning stage. The 'maro is just a street drive, no big deal. The Ranchero would be most closely described as pro touring, with the objective being 250 mph at Bonneville. We used to have discussion here about building the car to a "theme"..... Doesn't happen much anymore I guess. About half the threads on here anymore are just a re-hash of which cam and heads to put in a sbc....... Nothing wrong with that, I guess. Just hate to see people limit themselves to just an engine, or just the paint, or just anything!!!!!! The entire car and all of it's pieces conveying the same theme and all designed and built to achieve a certain goal is way big fun!!!!!
    CHEERS TO THAT!
you put it in better words than i could have. its really a great feeling to have done everything on your car yourself ( or almost if you dont have an engine boring machine or an englilsh wheel)
