the little ear on the front of the block just above the water pump, ive only ever seen 265/283/327 have those.

whatever, yes ONE AND ALL THE 383 IS THE ONLY MOTOR AVAILABLE FOR HOTRODS......unless you have a knack for getting more from less!oh and erick how many of them 383's hit 8500

To answer your question.
With a Dart block it is not un-common for the USMTS 383's,406,410's,420's to hit 8,500 to 8,800 rpm's every night they run.
