A 350 is a good engine, and can be built to have a lot of power without all that extra weight of the big block. I would say its best to work on weight distribution, gearing(both trans and rear end). If you spin your tires a lot, look at the tire and traction setup. Sometimes you can overpower your car into slower times.
If a stock audi is beating you he is likely beating you on traction and weight not HP. Focus on those if you want to beat him. You may look at replacing the leaf spring setup that car came with with a 4 link. Then replace the tires with the beefiest set you can fit under the rear quarters.º¿º>^. .^<

Thanks tommycat and halford, that is good advice. I would need to buy a new tranny if I wanted to but a rat under the hood, so that would be extra cash right there, and with the extra hp you obviously need bigger brakes. My dads best advice is to get 11" drums to replace the 9"ers and to get an OD tranny, which we might have at the garage, way before even thinking about putting in a big block. Im going to look into the 4 link system and a better set of sneakers because he definetly had way less power then me....only if my dead weight girlfriend wasnt in the front seat i might of had a chance! Thanks for all the input

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
