I would keep the block at .030 if I could, but you could go .040 if you had to. The B&M 144 would work but it is a little small for that many cubic inches. You would be better off with the larger version which I think is a 174. You want your compression ratio between 8.0:1 and 8.5:1. Otherwise you will not be able to run much boost which defeats the purpose of a blower. And make sure you run a blower cam which has a lobe center of around 114 degrees to minimize overlap which will bleed off boost.

You are welcome. I set up a 355 sb in my previous street rod with a 144 blower, so I worked with B&M tech staff to get everything correct. With 6-7 lbs of boost, that 2200 lb. car ran like a scalded dog! I used the largest of the three CompCams blower grind cams and liked it a lot, but with your engine you would need something a little bigger. You don't need a big lumpy cam with a blower.

Call CompCams, Crower, and Crane. See what they recommend and go with the middle one. It is a good practice to compare what different cam companies recommend. And by going with the middle one, you are probably making a good choice.

I'm not certain, but I think that balancer is Chinese-made and I wouldn't trust it any further than I could throw it. If you don't need an aftermarket SFI 18.1 balancer for drag racing, then just get a good stock balancer and double-key it. Here's a good source....

Over 99% of the time I agree with what Richard says but not this time.

You will rip the outer ring right of the inner ring because the interia ring will break away.
Either buy a crank hub or buy the a very good ATI SFI approved supercharger balancer.
The lower priced Romac supercharger balancers will also work.
