Ok here are the specs:

Vortec heads
Edelbrock Performer Vortec intake
Performer 1400 carb (600 cfm carter style)
350 four bolt main, 1-piece rear main seal
Scat 4340 rods stock replacement forged i-beam
Speed pro pistons flat top, 2 vavle relief .030 over
cam, crane cams powermax lift: .427"/.454", duration 260*/272*
stock stamped rockers that came w/ the vortecs
accel distributor with new module/coil
decent ignition wires
stock crank
street dampr
stock exhaust manifold, although might get headers

I am hoping to get around 300-350 horse and hopefully 350-400ft lbs for a daily driver truck that will see ocassional towing. I'd like to use less than 89 octane and get at least 150-200k miles with decent fuel mileage. I'd also like it to be somewhat reasonable $$-wise to build. Thanks for your help! Oh yeah, the vortecs are good to use right? Buddy of mine says he built a customer's engine with them and said the sound was great but throttle response kinda sucked.
