So heres the plan, take a 355 with a mild blower cam 488/488 or so, 112-114 lsa, and a duration to fit, shorter intake, little bit longer exaust.
Vortec heads, and stock bottom end except for hyper pistons with a dish to get around 8:1 CR. (I know forged would be better, and I will upgrade to forged once I have the cash, for now this is low budget and i've seen non racer blown egines made with stock pistons)
Ontop of that I want to bolt a weiand 142 supercharger with probably a 650cfm blower carb(What was suggested through the holley web page).

When I first get the engine in and try to start it the first few times, I dont want it to detonate, for fear of blowing the pistons up. Now if im not moving or going into high rpms, the roots blower wont really be making any psi right? So its not like the pressure in the cylinders will be THAT much right?

So what do I do to my engine the first time/s I start it to prevent detonation?

Thanks
Steve
