    mismatch heads?

Went to pick up a set of 462 heads from a guy today, and one ended up being a 461. I got the pair anyhoo. There is an advertised cc difference of 3 cc's . If the runners are the same, will this cc imbalace cause a world of problems? I'm thinking I should just buy 1 more 461 and 1 more 462 and have matched sets. Anyone care to respond to this one?

Something else I noticed, on the casting number surface the head reads 3782461, if you flip the head over 462 is cast onto the head also. Do they use two pcs. of mold to make one head?

If you dont care about the difference mill the one head till it ccs the same I would think a machine shop could do this .Also you could run mismatched head gaskets for a fix on the cheap

approx every compressed .010 thickness of the headgasket is + or - ( depending thicker or thinner ) 4cc's, so if 1 was .030 and 1 was .040, the side with .030 would have a slight bit higher compression. it's a quick fix, but due to the fact it's still not " right " it won't give yo even burning from side to side, dyno run will show that.

Ok check this out, I took the heads to the machine shop today, and they all got a big hoot, GM had mismarked the casting number, they were both 462's. My machinist showed me a 461. He said he'd never seen one marked wrong before, and thanked me for for providing the grin of the day.
