I have a Holley carb on my mildly build Small Block 355. I don't like it because it is too big for my application, and the fuel bowls drain when I am on angles offroad.

I had planned to switch to a quadrajet carb, but I have come across a full TPI setup for $500 (yes it's checked good, 350 injections, and comes with everything I need including gaskets).

Is it worth it? I will get better fuel economy, more response and driveability, no stalling on steep hills, and if I'm lucky, a few more HP.

I ask because I just don't see spending $150 on a quadrajet, just to do the FI in a year or so. I would like to hear your opinions.
