    350 heads on a 400 block

     



    I bought a 400 sb and it has 350 heads I don't know if the steam holes where ever drilled and I have 400 head gaskets is there a easy way to check the steam holes and can i use the 400 gaskets if they where never drilled out?

    You need to use 400 gaskets and 400 or drilled 350 heads, 350 gaskets and/or non drilled 350 heads will lead to overheating and is what gave 400's the bad reputation, the 400 is the SBC torque monster, when built with the right parts it will live long, cool and happy.

    thanks man I found one head drilled and the other wasnt so I drilled the other head and it came out perfect
