When I got my car, the engine ( a 1968 hi perf 350 sbc) included an Edelbrock 1406 (600 CFM, electric choke) carb on a Edelbrock Torker I intake. Previous owner had had a Holley but had problems with it and dumped it for the eddy. The engine also had had a Crane cam kit installed along with a number of other goodies like the 2.02 fuelie heads, etc. I have left it that way because it has never given me any significant problems. But lately I have seen that Edelbrock does not recommend mating the 1406 to a Torker (I or II) type manifold. I had been thinking about swapping out the Torker manifold for an Edelbrock Performer manifold and keeping the carb. I don't race the car, and better mpg certainly wouldn't hurt.

Opinions appreciated. Is the swap a good idea or should I just be happy with what I got
