I've alway run multiple carbs. My 302 in my '27 has 2 x 500's on it. It doesn't meet the normal math numbers for cubic inch vs cfm's, but even with straight linkage I never had a bog and it ran great. Plugs did get a little black in city driving, but the trade off was I liked seeing two of them sitting up there.

Gas milage was 20 +.
