hello saxman. if you get the #'s off the engine(the frt pad just below the head) and the casting #'s off the back of the engine then i'm sure that some one will be able to id the engine for you, the other way that you can see if it's a vortex is to look at the intake and exhaust ports, the vortex will be much longer then the standard engine, the standard engine is almost square as you look at them. but that won't tell you about the block, just the heads. also you can look at the valley under the intake and see if it's a rollor cam, it'll have a spidery looking thing that bolts to the center of the engine and goes around the lifters to hold them straight.WRENCHD
