89, we can do a lot of guessing, but maybe you should start with a couple of basic items based on the info you've put up so far. You mention smell. Does it smell like antifreeze in any way? (assuming you've put coolant in it) Or does it have a sort of "sweet"/stale smell? Very hard to do this on line because your frame of reference may/probably is different than mine. Your comment about gasoline begs the question. Is the gasoline in the rig over 6 months old? If so, drain the whole system and put in fresh. Start over and see what happens. If the "smoke" persists, then there's a good chance it's a coolant leak. Don't just check the oil for water, check the coolant for oil (radiator).
