Hey 454 , I feel for you cuz Im going through the same thing, I have a 1973 Chevy C10 and Im trying to Hot Rod my 305. Its hard but with effort you can manage it, I look at it like , Anyone can make a 350 go fast and especially a BB, But it takes Talent and Skill to Make a 305 Fast. First Off Scrap the EdelBrock Carb They suck, Put on a Holley 650 Street Avenger, Second get some Decent Voltage going through the wires, Get the MSD dist./Wire Combo and then a 6a MSD Tuner. 6AL if you dont have a Built in Rev Limiter on your dist. I would Scrap the FlowMasters too, And get some Glass Packs, Te Breathe Better, Get a Nice Set of 416 Heads with 58cc Combustion chambers, and A Decent Thumper Cam. That should Make some good power. Last But Not least you can get a Nice Blower From Vortech, The S Series. With all that you should be making just about 350-400 HP. Belive me, 305's are more Compatible than everyone thinks. Its taken me 2 Long Years and I am Just getting done with The Ignition. (Moneys Tight) I have to get heads and a Good Cam Next. Consult This site for the best info on these babys:
