The 283 crank only came with the small main journals, so you would have to obtain a small journal 327 block. Your going to need some good stout connecting rods and cylinder heads with large valves with strong springs and a cam that is suited for the 302.

I'd opt for a solid lifter cam because the 302 was made to obtain high rpms very quickly!

My best friend in high school had a new 69 Z28 that we drove the wee out of, nothing bets the sound of the 302 whining thru the gears on a four speed!!
