I used Sta-Lube Engine Assembly Grease with moly and graphite as well as the red stuff Comp Cams supplies with their cams. I used the assembly grease in all of the bearings, a little on the outside of the lifters, a dab on either end of the pushrods, rocker nuts, and rocker tips. I used some assembly lube on the valve stems as well. I soaked the lifters and timing chain in oil. I covered the cam in the red stuff and for good measure, squirt the Sta-Lube stuff down the drainback holes all over the cam. Not excessive amounts, just a dab on each lobe.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
