Re: glowing converter
I'm glade you got it fixed soup. I don't wish you no bad luck, but I sure am glade you came up with proof a flooding motor will cause the exhaust to turn red, because I've been on the loosing end of that argument for a long time, but I've seen it a lot of times on cars with conv. thanks for letting us know.Originally posted by soup
hey guys fixed glowing converter, put new crate engine in 350 -290 hp , ordered new carb q-jet and fuel pump , fuel pump is high volume which puts out 7psi , after reading carb. instrutions finally jeg,s specifies their q-jets will only run 2-5 psi , i got 7psi, booklet says and i quote these carb assemblies use long fulcrum floats and cannot run over 5psi or they will FLOOD EXCESSIVLEY I had piles of raw fuel in converter hence the glow, changed to 5psi pump no more glow. thanks for the help. soupMike

time for a new forum to visit. when they sold sr.com it went down hill fast. no more forum just a cheap site selling junkie cars. the canadians killed hr.com. mods are real pricks. as with any site...
Where is everybody?
