Not for a 'project' car/engine. Most salvage yards want the infomation from the engine you are 'replacing', assuming that you are replacing a bad engine. There are 3 different versions of 4.3L.

    1) Early carburated

    2) Early injected

    3) Lated injected (Vortec)

If you want to use a carb, get an early non-Vortec engine. I think it's pre '92 ('85-'91?). What yard are you working with?

You'll have to forgive me, but what's a FSC? Go to the Hot Rod Magazine website and look for an article called 'Three Quarter 350.
