As crazy as it sounds, speaking as a ford huy that has worked in dealerships changing alot of oil on all makes and models, Motorcraft makes a filter for that engine that is "supposed" to be one of the best on the market. It (so I was told by the old men in the shop) has a silicone check valve in it to prevent backflow, and filters to a smaller micron size than most aftermarket filters. Be it wrong or right, I have used motorcraft filters on everything from a subaru to a toyota, and have always found oil particals to be very low if non-existant. JMO
Very interesting.......can I make myself reach for that Motorcraft filter......need to research more......Thanks for the info.
