Personally I prefer to go with electronic whenever possible. Guess I'm just getting old and prefer not to mess with points anymore. Unless your doing a restoration/era correct car who cares if it doesn't look original?

My own preference on a driver is to go with a factory setup wherever possible. I like the fact that if I have a component go bad that even on a Sunday (let alone if I'm a thousand miles from home and garage) I can go into a local parts store and get replacement parts rather than having to wait a few days to have them mail ordered in. Additionally, how many people keep the wiring diagrams handy in case they have to trouble shoot the system?. With a factory setup, a shop manual gives you all the instruction you need to identify defective components.

Just my 2 cents.
