epoxy on cast
hey everyone, has anyone ever used epoxy on heads or blocks with any luck?? The reason is ,i've got a really good set of 461 double humps that are fully ported, 202-160 stainless, 1.55 double springs, and one of the spring pockets(when it was machined for bigger springs) has hit water. Now it was epoxyed and spring cup was put in place and spring installed and it looked fine( i bought them this way at a real good price) I speed brushed the epoxy out and cleaned the head very good, even brushed the hole with lauquer thinner, i've built many hot small chevys in my time but never had to repair any cast parts. So has anyone had any luck with epoxy in a manner like this, because i'd hate to send the head off to get welded, that can get costly and even then i'd have to grind the pocket out to fit my cup! may be i could braze it, but will the brazing expand the same as the cast??? any help would be great.
Damn, that's something I didn't want to hear. I'm glad I got to meet him and Rosie and Rick. I'm proud to have had him as a friend, RIP Johnboy
