I've got the exact same issue with a GM high perf intake and a MSD dist. The measurements are nearly exact. I have found the MR. Gasket bushing you spoke about but have yet to try it. With that much slop you've got to wonder about shaft alignment and what's going to happen to the gears. Have you got it worked out yet?
