Helps flow thru the cooling system.
It's called " by pass " because it " by passes " the thermostat.
From the pic of the oil pump & pick up, it looks like the pick up would bolt to the body of the pump using the tab.
IDK what the torque would be for it, I'm surprised there were no instructions with it.
