you will be fine .if the cap looks so/so i pull the dowel pins out of cap then lap the mounting surface of the cap till smooth .most all the time it is fine i only had to fix 3 or 4 over 25+ years of building bbcIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
