Well, lucky for me I caught it before it actually ate the cam. The lifter bottoms on the damaged lobes were just barely showing a funny wear pattern, and the lobes showed a wear pattern almost all the way across the tip of the lobe instead of the normal sorta half-way across pattern. Glad I tore the intake back off after cam "break"-in to check for wear. lol. Otherwise this would have cost me lots. So far I see no visible signs of damage elsewhere. Probably helps that I have no oil filter bypass and I caught it early.
