    i built them both ways if you have a good set of stock 3/8 thumb rods with arp or sps bolts to mild hp and rpms or a set of the 7/16 dimp rods i built them with with 6.135 rods but the 6.385 rods help to get more counter weigth in the engine to go internal balance.and not more money to up grade to the H beams less you can re con the stock rods your self . you want the guilds comming out the valve cover side .you will be hitting them with the driver chamber side /deck of head watch you do not slip and hit the deck they some times just do not come out .they rust in.. that is why i line them with a 502 liner and i can go to 11/32 valve stems
