    no your intake will work some guys fill the upper bolt hole up with jb weld or rtv the upper bolt is not needed and many makers of intake s and heads stop using the upper bolt. gaskets lay out better with out the hole for port work as well . intakes gaskets hold up better with out the bolt hole was the weak part with the upper cut out for the bolt .the intakes will not crack or bust the upper ears off if there nothing there and that did happen from over tq
