I have a 454 taken from a 1984 C30 wrecker. It still has the stock pan. I am not sure how much oil I should be running in this thing. I replaced the dipstick with an aftermarket piece which is unmarked so I cannot tell by looking at the dipstick, the old dipstick was mangled..
