When I wired mine up I done the battery charger trick too. For the coil/spark wire, I ran it to a seperate toggle switch. Flip the switch down and it kills the engine.

Looks like I spoke too soon, I have a considerable doubt this site will ever recover and I don't think those in charge just don't give a damn, prove me wrong.
