    Also on the hp/torque rating i have no idea , this is my first big block, have ran small blocks with smaller displacement and am tired of them, they say theres no replacement for displacement right? anybody have any ideas on how much hp/torque with my figures?

    Thanks for the help guys, just got a th-400 and dropped it off at thr tranny shop for hardened shafts, sprag etc, i can hardly wait to see how much money it is going to cost me , i found a th-400 on a website claiming it will handle 900 horse for $1500????

    When I had mine rebuilt at the local performance trans/converter place, I was surprised it only set me back about $700... In addition to the shafts and sprag, ask for the waffle-style clutches, they tighten things up quite a bit and should not wear as quick as the conventional clutches (?). Unless you're looking for nice smooth shifts

    i like it when it shifts and it tears tendons etc.in your neck, only way to go, if i wanted to shift smooth id buy a Kia, NOT!!!!
