if you go to the 3 ring piston then you will need 400 longer rods the 4 ring piston are not good for much.and you can run a shelf piston srp or put a 454 crank in it and bore it 060 over that way you can get some cid with the money you spend. on the stock rods they need nothing like getting shot peened you will never see the money . big block have great rods they do not need much less you want to do the work .but at that point then buy some scats rodsLast edited by pat mccarthy; 08-21-2007 at 11:54 AM.
