I built a few boat engines over the years.
The biggest thing is your cam selection.
If you have a huge cam in a boat that won't idle less than 1,200 rpm's this will be a real pain in the a$$ when you go to "dock" the boat.
Make sure you tell the cam man exactly what you want to do with the boat.
