They were just honed and not bored. The block has no cracks or dammage and is fine. Also whats up with everyone hating on my gear set. I know what they sound like and its fine. I just wanted to know about any potential installation issues with this.

Hopefully when they align honed the mains they cut the caps before they honed the main bearing bore. If it is done right, no reason to run any bearing other then the bearing that is correctly sized for the journal diameter of the crank. As far as all the information on checking the cap registers, it's more for building a true blueprinted motor vs. just bolting one together with store bought parts..... No reason to get all up tight because Pat gave you more information then you wanted. Then the dreaded gear drive. All anyone said is that they make an ungodly noise that will sometimes not allow you to hear other malfunctions in your engine, and that a chain and gears actually produces more horsepower. I would just add that a gear drive does away with the ability of the chain to absorb some of the harmful harmonics produced within the reciprocating assembly. But hey, run your gear drive and impress the kiddies if that trips your trigger......
