hey techinspector 1 do the math you see 1/2 the stroke a 454 is 4.000 1/2 of that is 2.000 the piston pin center is 1.765 the rod is 6.375 this rod is 250 long and the block is 10.200 add it up and it is 10.140 0.60 in the hole i have done this with a 427 tall deck i have built a lot of stroker big blocks 9.800and 10.200 i do know what i am talking about .i do not know how thick the walls are on a 366 but most big blocks are .200 thick or more it would need to be check.

366 and396 402 and 427 all have a3.760 stroke the bore is different the so putting 369 or 402 piston make it 396 or 402 but you must use a 400 long rod to get it to the top of the deck.i do not know how thick the bores on 366 is but i seen 427 tall decks can take .100 and more the last one i built was 526 0.60 over and 4 1/2 stroke

Sounds really really nice, my next project as far as motors goes is going to be a tall deck chevy with 4.750 stroke and a 5" bore with a 8-71 blower. Your motor sounds like its a bad ass motor!!!!!

You can't punch a 366 to 396 bore. If you could, they'd all be 396's! As it is, they're eyeball deep in scrap piles.

Blown monte 502 question (off topic)

What kind of blower is that? did you stick with the original 9:6.1 compression? what HP are you getting with the SC, and is it worth the $$$ to add a SC to a moter which already gets 502 HP at the fly?
