Beautiful Nick! Just Beautiful!
Thanks again for all the positive comments, guys. I like them so much I'd find it hard to believe somebody not liking them, but I realize they won't be everybody's style.
I installed them after work today and then went out for a couple hour ride. My wife said "I thought you said you'd be back in half hour" ...sometimes I'm so time dysfunctional it's hard to believe. But they're very comfortable, too. Glad for that since my old butt needs comfort and I went over that important feature with Chris (upholstery man) so he knew to make sure priority for comfort was up there with style. I'm driving it to work tomorrow and will take some pics in daylight and post back, showing some installed shots like Roger suggested.
Just got back from a very pleasant lunch at Tony's Place Pub so first things first, I will recommend the Southern Tier Brewing Company's Hop Sun beer. It was pleasantly highlighted by home made tuna salad sandwich, spiced up with a little mayo-Sriracha hot sauce, on local bakery rye bread, with sweet potato fries. Going back after work!
Then I took a few pics as below to give you a better idea of the installed look ...keep in mind that later this season when there won't be so many nice driving days I will be changing the rest of the interior to better match:
The wiring you see to that little panel button mounted on the left is the driver's seat with the "fat girl ejection button" aka line-lock.

PS: excuse the dirt especially on the carpet, from barreling down the road in an open car and didn't take time to clean it yet
Oh now I understand where those beautifully crafted pieces of lumber were going. Awesome finish and yes, once you have the rest of the trim matching the deeper brown, you will have an amazing car interior that finishers the whole car. Now I looked real hard and I couldn't see any dirt but in saying that, dirt on the carpet means that your baby is a driver and you don't even hesitate to drive it to work, you sir are to be admired for that.
Thought it was time to revive this thread. Anything new in the last few months? Sure are some nice seats and beautiful craftsman ship on this thread.... Lets keep it going. Whats new out there?
Hey M.T., long time no see! I've sent my dash and window trim out for woodgraining, trying out the hydro-dipping approach.. parts aren't back yet so you'll have to wait for pics...
Sounds cool 34_40... A buddy just did the woodgrain look to his dash, interior trim and garnish molding for the windows. Looks amazingly good. Im anxious to see what you come up with!
I put myself on a self imposed "TIME OUT" for awhile... I was getting to testy and wasnt very proud of where I was going. I had to cool my jets, listen to the little voice in my head, then deflate my big arse bubble before I could continue. I think I can be a good boy for awhile now.
We all need some time away once in a while.. Good to see your here again!
Feels good to be back, thanks.
Well that doesnt look good? Some time back I was having issues with the forum doing goofy things with my posts. I would click on different topics and it said I wasnt authorized to post and thing like that so I opened another account and the issues went away. Guess the mods didnt like me having 2 accounts... Hopefully its all cleared up now. Im not banned Just the old account is banned!
Not a problem at all Bill... what ever its worth with all 3 accounts Ive tried with here 1.~Metal Twister 2.~ M.T.1 and 3.~ M.T. I still cant log on to the home page? I get a pop up window and it says I dont have permission to go there... LOL Just an FYI and Im done trying to find the glitch. Thanks for the offer to change it back. This will work just fine!
If this is not the url you have pointed to as the home page, change it in your link properties:
http://www.clubhotrod.com/
it will default to
http://www.clubhotrod.com/content/
which is the current home page url

We all get that one if you click on the logo at the top left of the page! Just ignore it and choose a tab / menu choice below that logo.
Not really....I've never been a Darrell 1, 2 or 3.:D But I have watched reruns of The Bob Newhart Show. I guess I could have also cited George Foreman and all his sons named George.....:LOL::LOL:
However, I just found this and reviewed.....at about the 3 min. mark I'm reminded it's only 2 Darrells and a Larry....:LOL: clip from second episode of Newhart - YouTube
M.T., when you get that "...you don't have permission" message just ignore it, scroll to the top and click on "Today's Posts" or one of the other tabs. Works for me anyway....
It's all good guys, Didnt mean to derail this thread this far off topic? Maybe we could split this thread or loose everything below me being banned? Its your call... Thanks again
Bob, Bob, And Bob, or other wise known as M.T. Here Now.
That'll take out all the fun! LOL.. Okay, Okay.... back to our regularly scheduled programming!
Sorry for the diversions, M.T.!!:3dSMILE: In an effort to do my part to help get back on track with the subject of your thread, here's what I've been doing to the interior of my '66 Ford F100 lately.
Starting in 1965, Ford offered a factory option they called the "Ranger package" before they actually created the "Ranger". This package consisted of bucket seats and an optional console. The seats were '66 Mustang buckets on special brackets and the console was '64 Falcon style.
My truck came with a factory bench seat that had been recovered in white tucknroll with dark green piping. They were coordinating with the Holly green dash & Wimbledon white cab. It had grown weary so I decided to convert to the Mustang buckets.
I bought the Mustang seat frames and recovered them with a TMI Sport II upholstery kit in the factory "Parchment" color. The Sport II updates the old seats with larger bolsters and a more sporty look & feel.
It's still a work in progress but here's where I am so far:
Attachment 60693
Attachment 60694
I opted for the '63 Falcon console instead of the '64
Attachment 60695
I sprayed the door panels & door pockets with vinyl upholstery paint in "parchment"
Attachment 60696
Since I've relocated the fuel tank out of the cab, I'm working on a "cover" for the back of the cab. Also have new Holly Green carpet which has not yet been installed. Many other details to attend to as well but since it's my daily driver, everything happens in usable stages....:whacked:
Very nice Randy... That center console and seats look like they should of always been there! Thanks for posting this up...
That's Cool Randy! Are the seats comfortable? Maybe it's the picture but the angle appears "wrong"... like the front is to high up??
All home grown, framimg / foam an all
Sorry, Mike, I don't know how I missed your response....but, yes they are comfortable and very supportive. With the increased bolsters, etc. it does make the front higher than the original style seats for sure. But actually it kinda serves as extra thigh support.
Here's a pic of the stock Mustang seats in a original '66 with the Ranger package:

Interesting.....I've never sat in a 3rd row van seat that I would call comfortable.:HMMM: In fact, on the rare occasion that I ride in a van, I avoid the back rows like the plague!! However, I can't imagine the stock '48 seat is very comfortable either unless reworked by somebody like our O.P. on this thread.....:D:D:D
Here's mine. Basic, dusty, original, and a bit springy under the driver's side towel..

Randy, nice work on the new seats and console. I really like the looks of that console!
Bat, the T's interior looks great!
Since we're back on track.. here's a tease of what the wood graining looks like on the dash..
Absolutely stunning!!!!
There used to be a Casket company here in town and I liked watching the guys paint the caskets then use a Emu feather to run length wise over the whole box... It was amazing how it looked like real wood! And over a large surface with no hickups. Your dash sure looks nice! so when are you going to do the big showing?
Some good looking stuff there.
I am gonna have to find a good interior shop either in Vegas or California.
I have two cars that need to be done.
My 70 Buick Riv and a 72 Vette.
I want to get all the body work done on the Vette and pull the motor as well
before taking it to get the interior done though.
