    Cutting a fiberglass dash

Need advice. Just got a dash insert for my 32 ford dash. I want to cut the dash so i can recess it into the dash. Its a oval shape. What tool would be best to make a nice clean cut. I want to make a template and use it as a guide for a pefect cut.

Jigsaw will do the job..Use the correct blade for the job and there shouldnt be a problem.

And to add, you might under cut just a tad and then ease up to the proper size by sanding back for a nice fit.

I also find it helpful to make a paper/hardboard mockup of the insert and tape it to the dash while in the car and test for exact placement. Look at it not only from the driver seat for how it works around the sight line through the steering wheel, but also walk around the car and look through the windows. And of course, when you get ready to cut, make sure you measure, measure, measure, to make sure it's not skewed.
