Mike & I were typing at the same time, but he uses fewer words. To analyze your rear gear choices you need the transmission final drive ratio and the rear tire diameter in addition to the proposed gear ratio's. With that you can figure your cruise rpm to pick the right gears. It also helps to know your torque curve details, as in what rpm you get up on the curve, and where your HP and torque fall off on the top - i.e. what you consider your red line. A 3000 to 3400rpm stall converter seems very tall for the street, but one step at a time.
