Ford c-4 kickdown problem
I've got a '78 Mercury Monarch with a c-4 transmission and the kickdown is frozen. How do I un-freeze it?Gerig Michael H.

60 buickrod; I would try some graphite on the linkage where it goes into the tranny, try wiggling it around. See if that wont loosen it up, if not the problem could be internal. [Don't use WD-40 on it.] The WD will eat up any O-rings that may be on the linkage going into the tranny. Hope this helps you.

P.S. Make sure you block your wheels so it doesn't roll down on you.
I've had a lot of BIG things happening to me lately but now I'm back to working on the car some, it feels good! The tranny mount was bad and that helped put everything back where it should be....
