you can re program the valve body for no auto shift . you will not hurt the 400 with the kick down left un hook you just have to down shift it your self .do not buy the b&m reprogram kit you will not like it well i did not . street strip plate take the wave plates out of the clutch packs make sure you have the big front drum more clutchs the better and use a screen filter that about all you need for mild use. i have had the full manual rev valve bodys on the steet for 30 years no up shift or down no gear braking full line psi have two and like them shift when you want to the next gear . on stalls the 350 and 400 will take the same pump hub you can swap them they fit
