have an aod transmission behind a 302. when starting out, it seems to shift to second almost immediately after car begins moving. not a complaint really, just seems odd. also, when shifting into 4th, it doesnt want to shift til i hit about 50 mph or so, and then it shifts and all is well. neither of these "problems" present a driveability issue for me, they just annoy me to some extent, but not so much i want to take transmission out of the car. the rearend is an 8 in ford of unknown year and gearing, but they are very hiway freindly. it is a carb'd motor and the transmission is not computer controlled. is there some kind of linkage/vacuum/modulator issue i should be looking at?
